Questions Related to Ultrasounds?
A limited ultrasound is a vital step in pregnancy confirmation because it not only reveals the gestational age of the fetus, it also reveals if the pregnancy is viable (i.e. that you have not miscarried and that the pregnancy is not ectopic).
-
Yes. Before scheduling an ultrasound we will schedule you for one of our lab-grade pregnancy tests to verify your pregnancy. This step is necessary to establish you as a client and, under certain circumstances, we may be able to complete the ultrasound on the same day.

The type, cost, and success/complications of various abortion procedures are all impacted by your health history and how far along the pregnancy is. So, if you're considering abortion, it is vital you gather all the information about your pregnancy with an ultrasound.
The ultrasound will provide you with the following information:
- The gestational age of the fetus. Knowing how far along you are is critical when evaluating abortion (especially the abortion pill - i.e. 'chemical abortion') as an option.
- Whether the pregnancy is viable. Viability means you have not miscarried (i.e. there is a fetal heartbeat) and the pregnancy is not ectopic (i.e. a pregnancy outside of the uterus that will not survive). If an ultrasound reveals either of these situations to be the case, it may require the immediate attention of a doctor - and we can help make that referral.
